                     Loan Modification in Bankruptcy

Can I modify my mortgage while in bankruptcy?

Yes. The Mortgage Modification Mediation Program, or MMM, now available in all chapters of bankruptcy, is designated to function as a forum for individuals to explore mortgage modification options with their lenders for property in which the individual has an interest or are obligated on the promissory note or mortgage. What this means is that investment properties, as well as homestead properties, owned by individuals or entities can participate in the MMM Program.
